اهداف این پژوهش ارزیابی خواص ژئوتکنیکی سنگ های آندزیتی است که به طور گسترده ای در غرب یزد رخنمون دارند. تمرکز ثانویه مطالعات استفاده از این سنگ های خنثی در صنعت ساختمان می باشد. از نظر سنی این سنگ ها مریوط به جریان های بازالتی دوره ائوسن می باشد. در این راستا ده نمونه تصادفی از 5 محل به منظور بررسی های آزمایشگاهی جمع آوری شد و بر روی نمونه ها آزمایش های مقاومت کششی برزیلی، مقاومت فشاری تک محوری ، لوس آنجلس، جذب آب ، تخلخل و... انجام گرفت . مقاومت فشاری تک محوری نمونه ها از حدود 40 تا 130 مگاپاسکال متغییر بودند. عدد سایش لوس آنجلسی آنها در محدوده بین 3.5 تا 4.5 درصد قرار گرفت.نتایج آزمایشگاهی آندزیت های غرب یزد نشان می دهد که این سنگ ها می توانند به عنوان منبع مناسبی برای سنگ های ساختمانی قرار گیرد.

Andesite Rocks are highly distributed and available in huge quantities in west of Yazd in central Iran. The objective of this study is to determine the Evaluation of resistance and those relevant to engineering aims in central Iran., which is related to the Upper Eocene basaltic flows and to conduct a comparison of the results with the standard specifications. Ten random samples of west of Yazd, were collected representing five locations. The laboratory investigation included measurements of point load strength, splitting tensile strength (MPa), Los Angeles, abrasion value (%), slake durability, abrasion, porosity, and saturation degree. In addition, the chemical and mineralogical composition of the basalt was identified utilizing X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and X Ray Diffraction respectively.The laboratory investigation included measurements of point load strength, splitting tensile strength (MPa), Los Angeles,abrasion value (%), slake durability, abrasion, porosity, and saturation degree. In addition, the chemical and mineralogical composition of the basalt was identified.The results of properties related to engineering indicate that these rocks have mainly compressive strength values ranging from 40 to 130 Mpa. Los Angles Abrasion ranges between 3.66% and 4.83%, and splitting tensile strength (MPa) is between 1.954 and 3.331.The results show that the Andesiteof west of Yazd complies with the international standards, and the standards.used for classifying the decorative and building stones and some not recommended.
